In November 2006, Nestlé Netherlands has installed a new Grasso air cooled ammonia chiller.
The Ingenium Compact 180 is a product of the continuous development of the Grasso water cooled Ingenium series.

Grasso supplies NH3 ice water chiller
The ice water chiller provides the required cooling capacity for the cold store in Alphen aan de Rijn, where products such as Kit Kat, Lion and Nuts are stored. The warehouse has a total surface area of 13.500 m² and 23.000 pallet places. The storage temperature is being held at 18°C and the humidity at 68%.
To maintain these conditions, in summertime the air is cooled down with 4 °C water, after which it is heated again to a temperature of 18°C.
By first cooling the air below the dew point and reheating it, the humidity can be regulated.
The Grasso NH3 ice water chiller has an environmental friendly character, as Nestlé aims at that. Besides that, the energy efficiency is an important buying factor.
The “beating heart” of the air cooled Ingenium compact chiller is a semi-hermetic Grasso reciprocating compressor, which is available for 8 different capacities from 100 to 400 kW.
With the new Grasso Ingenium Compact series, once again Grasso has proven itself a leader in technology for ammonia chillers.
